Inspired by the different landscapes, environments and renewable energy sources of Scotland and Indonesia.
Renewable was created through an 8 week digital art residency (Dance Dialogue) between Marc Brew (Marc Brew Company) and Mariska Febriyani (Ballet.id).
Through the residency they explored the concept of space and restrictions, reflecting on the pandemic, and the landscapes in both countries.
Their explorations were then recorded and edited to be presented as a dance films reflecting perspectives from each of the individuals, their culture, and inclusion.
Through the collaboration dance films Renewable and Logue were created.

“For me it felt like the cycles of nature that were repeating itself across the world.”
“A beautiful example of some of the ways artists during lockdown found ways to collaborate, even though they weren’t able to be in the same space.”
